The project that I propose to your attention has as an argument The design and in particular some of its implications that further will be illustrated.
I graduated in architecture with a thesis in architectonical composition at the University of Rome.
My cultural formation led me to have interests towards aspects of both artistic and scientific arguments.
The practical application and the reflection on the architectonical composition led me to undertake a research on the possibility of generalizing and formalizing some aspects of both creative and projective methods.
After different years of research and individual study I realized the elements that they constitute the basic idea and a prototype, quiet advanced, to build what I proposed to myself and that, in this occasion, I wish to propose to you hoping that they are considered valid to the competition’s aim.
I should underline that all the theoretic premises formulated in this section would be estimated if some software components were not realized that allow to apply them in a real context.
The design is a gathering of activities finalized to realize both material product (such as a clock or a building) and immaterial ones (such as software or music).
These activities endue to either functional, technical and ergonomic aspects of any project of use, or formal, symbolic and cultural aspects that would distinguish it or characterize it.
It’s about a complete and articulated process that from the very first phases of exploration and generation of an idea carries out until the final definition of a product.
We can confirm that between these activities the creative aspect is fundamental and we can also reassert that all that it is created by the man has a creative phase therefore of design.
Every design´s work produces an organism, more or less complex and complete in which all its parts are in mutual relation.
To ease the description let us consider the graphic planning, that is the invention and realization of a graphic pattern.
Who had any chance to prepare a composition, knows that every element should be in a precise relation with the others and only when all the elements will be balanced the composition can be considered done this is a process that can be proved and verified.
In the example attached (figure 1, 2 and 3) even without having any direct experience of the creation, it can be comprehended evidently that every drown line has a precise logic that ties with the others.

Figure 3: Esher
Our hypothesis is that it exists a logical “mechanism” that can join all the elements of the composition that can be theoretically identified therefore it can be formalized into the rules that will generate the composition to implement in a software program to use in practice.
One of the principal unknown matters to face this problem is the availability of an adequate model of space to these applications.
The scientific models of the space that we have in disposition are defined by geometry, Euclidean or non Euclidean, but they are made to explain and describe the space phenomena that exist in the space, not to create them.
To solve this difficulty it was required to create a new geometry, not Cartesian, that doesn’t have the point of concept. It’s a geometry that is based on relations and allows to describe and represent the logical relations between entities.
For more details see the attachment in chapter: geometry.
The level in which the geometry is presented is quiet generic as its epistemological verification and its formalization are part of the work to carry out in case of winning the competition.
After the geometry it was necessary to elaborate a methodology on the composition to be able to build the objects to create.
See the attachment in chapter: Composition.
Likewise the level in which the composition is presented is quiet generic as its epistemological verification and its formalization are part of the work to carry out in case of winning the competition.
To put in practice the theories on geometry and the composition it was developed an adequate formal language. With it, through a compiler and a software atmosphere of development, created on purpose, it’s possible to realize in practice the composition imagined and described.
The interpretation of the formal language produces the representation of the space of the composition in which the results and the alternative composed can be observed.
In practical they have been realized the following component:
Currently all these component are realized and usable but they are in a prototyped state, both the theoretical and the applicative parts.
Winning the competition would help to their theoretical and practical verification as well with the support of specialized consultants in the various sectors: logical-mathematical, computer science- linguistic, software. Beside the software should be strengthened in order to be usable to interact with other functions. In the attachments the images 4, 5 and 6 are realized with the software.
